Welcome to our website designed to facilitate the ongoing relationship amongst our members, Harvard Business School and HBS Clubs throughout the world.
The mission of Harvard Business School is to “educate leaders who make a difference in the world.” The HBS Club of Ottawa contributes to this mission by nurturing an ongoing relationship amongst its members, in and around Canada’s National Capital, strengthening the links with the Business School and by giving back to the local community.
HBS Club of Ottawa provides a forum for alumni/ae, HBS Faculty and invited guests to connect with each other, to share their business and life experiences, debate cutting-edge issues; promote friendship, learning and mutual understanding; connect with other HBS Clubs throughout the world; and work together with business, governments and civil societies on a wide range of issues facing our communities. The Club also consistently looks out for, and supports, candidates with outstanding leadership potential to apply for admission to the School.
Non-HBS graduates interested to participate in most events are welcome to apply as Associate Members. Participants pay a fee to attend each of the various events organized by the Club, in order to recover the costs and sometimes to raise money for a worthwhile cause related to our mission.
In 2008, HBS celebrates its Centennial with major commemorating seminars and symposia to be held throughout the world. With the National Capital as an ideal location for debating socioeconomic issues that transcend the public and private sectors, the HBS Club of Ottawa is planning a major international seminar on this theme on June 18th. Unique in its format and scope, and based on cutting-edge research originating at HBS, this event will address the root causes and potential solutions to some of the most serious socioeconomic issues facing corporate leaders and public policy makers today and in the coming years. The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) will be the recipient of the net proceeds from this event.
Join our Club and help us "make a difference in the world".
Yours Sincerely,
